Wrexham County Youth Choir

The Choir was formed by Tim Jones and Tina Boycott in September 2009 to encourage singing in secondary schools. Members range in age from 13 – 18. Many singers have progressed from this choir to be members of 4 Counties Youth Choir and also the National Youth Choir of Wales.

There are students from every secondary school in Wrexham County and Coleg Cambria 6th form College in the Choir.

Last year the choir was fortunate to be chosen to sing in 2 concerts in the Williams Aston Hall; one with The Operaboys, and the other when they were selected from a number of choirs to sing with Aled Jones.

The choir has performed in many local venues and has helped to raise money for charities including NSPCC and Hope House Hospice.

The young singers have taken part in ‘Music For Youth’, performing in Birmingham Town Hall and twice in Birmingham Symphony Hall where they won a ‘Performance in Practice’ Certificate in 2015. This summer they were very proud to be placed 3rd out of 10 international choirs at Llangollen Eisteddfod with only .7 of a mark between the top three!
